k3-2Iron Sixes Horsemanship is named after the six-shooters that were once known as a symbol of the West. A time when a fast horse and accuracy with a pistol was a matter of survival. Best friends and professional horsemen, Travis Smith and Benjiumen Denny join forces to start Iron Sixes Horsemanship. Dedicated to the sport of Cowboy Mounted Shooting, Travis and Ben are currently CMSA TM Level Five cowboys. Over 20 a combined 20 years, they have diligently worked to obtain their level of success and admit to making every mistake in the book along the way. Travis and Ben believe in giving back to the horse industry. They have developed a horsemanship-based curriculum and clinic format, designed to give others the tools to be successful mounted shooters. Their clinics are geared for all levels of horsemen, from the newcomer or helping current competitors achieve the next level.

Description: An introduction to the exciting sport of cowboy mounted shooting. Clinic details the rules, typical gear and guns used, pattern management and level of horse training needed to compete.
2:00-2:50 Mounted Shooting Horsemanship- Horse Science Arena
ktrav-2Description: A clinic designed to introduce horses and riders to the basic horsemanship and communication skills needed to establish the bond and experience level required before gun breaking.
5:15-5:45 Advance Mounted Shooting-Coliseum
Description: A class for current mounted shooters to refine their horsemanship skills and communication between horse and rider. Covers pattern management and shooting drills on horseback and techniques for improving.

10:15-11:05 Introducing your horse to gunfire- Horse Science
Description: A hands-on clinic designed to get your horse comfortable with gunfire. This clinic is horsemanship based and will go over communication and control between horse and rider as well as tack and bitting.
1:15-2:05 Mounted Shooting rifle and shotgun-Horse Science Arena
Description: A hands-on course designed to help current mounted shooters master the rifle and shot gun classes. Includes rifle and shot gun demonstrations.
5:00-5:45  Cowboy shooting guns and gear-East Arena
Description: An introduction to the firearms, holsters and typical gear used in the sport of cowboy mounted shooting.
